Kavian Petrochemical plant produces two million tonnes of Ethylene per year supplying the downstream petrochemical plants. This plant required an input of 94,000 M³/h of water. This is supplied through a seawater intake system, the system required 9 automatic self-cleaning filters each with a maximum capacity of 11,000 M³/H and able to filter out particles which are over 1000 microns in size. The filters needed to have an automatic backflush mechanism in order to maintain a constant flow of water into the plant.

  • Seawater Filtration System

    LOCATION:

    South Pars Development 15&16

    DESCRIPTION:

South pars development 15&16 has a sea water intake system supplying water to various processes and cooling systems. The scope of this project was to provide adequate filtration for some of the processes which required sea water. These filters, due to constant duty, needed to be of an automatic backflush variety to minimise down time and loss of flow. The filters were designed to filter out any coarse particle over 500 microns in size.

  • Marun 2 Desalting Development Plant, Ahwaz, Iran Marun 6 Desalting Mobilizing Plant

    LOCATION:

    Ahwaz, Iran

    DESCRIPTION:

As a result of the increase in the salt content of the crude oil in the aging wells, it becomes necessary to implement a process to separate the salty water from the crude oil. Using flushing water and admitting crude to pass through an electro static field, the salt molecules are separated from the mixture to leave the crude with negligible salt content. Marun 2 & 6 desalting plants are located in Ahwaz, Khuzestan province, Iran.

  • Heater Treater Unit

    Arabian Gulf Oil , Libya

    DESCRIPTION:

    144" ID X 70'0" T/T Horizontal electrostatic dehydrator
    96" ID X 30'-0" T/T Separator
Each system utilises a horizontal electrical grid system; here a three tear grid system is utilised; live upper and lower grids and an earthed middle grid, providing a deep AC field. Crude oil is fed into the dehydrator/desalter using a specially designed distribution header which is positioned beneath the electrical grid assembly, thus ensuring even flow through the AC electrical field. Subjected to the high voltage electrostatic field, the water droplets coalesce and separate from the oil.
